The Division of Biological Sciences strives to train top-notch graduate students who will go on to be leaders in their fields.  The Division offers a supportive intellectual environment, including seminar series featuring speakers of national and international stature, frequent opportunities for student speaking and socializing, various forms of assistantship and scholarship support, and substantive contact with advisors and other faculty members.

The Division offers both Masters and PhD programs.  Prospective students should recognize that the Division is organized into two subunits: Integrative Microbiology and Biochemistry (IMB) and Organismal Biology and Ecology (OBE) which have different intellectual emphases, admission processes, and degree requirements.
